Paul Would Like a Word

Paul's letters to the early Church weren't philosophical musings written from a comfortable study. They were urgent, Spirit-filled instructions penned from prison cells, under persecution, and in the heat of ministry battles. And if Paul were writing today—to a twenty-first-century church drowning in comfort, compromise, and cultural noise—his words would land like thunder.

THE CALL TO WAKE UP

Paul's central message to the Church was always the same: Wake up. Stand firm. Don't drift. He knew that believers could easily fall asleep spiritually—lulled by routine, distracted by the world, or deceived by false teaching.

"Wake up, sleeper, rise from the dead, and Christ will shine on you." — Ephesians 5:14

If Paul were addressing the modern Church, he would ask: Are you awake? Or are you spiritually asleep—going through religious motions while your heart grows cold?

STOP CONFORMING TO THE WORLD

Paul's sharpest rebuke was always reserved for believers who blended into their culture rather than standing out as salt and light.

"Do not conform to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind." — Romans 12:2

The world tells us to chase comfort, embrace relativism, and avoid offense at all costs. Paul would say: That's not Christianity. Following Jesus has never been safe, convenient, or culturally acceptable.

UNITY AT ALL COSTS

Paul spent half his ministry pleading with believers to stop dividing over secondary issues and unite around the Gospel.

"Make every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit through the bond of peace." — Ephesians 4:3

Today's Church is fractured—not over essential doctrine, but over politics, preferences, and petty disputes. Paul would be heartbroken. He would remind us that our unity in Christ is more important than being right about everything else.

RUN THE RACE

Paul never spoke of faith as a passive Sunday morning ritual. He spoke of it as a race, a fight, a battle—something that required discipline, endurance, and total commitment.

"I have fought the good fight, I have finished the race, I have kept the faith." — 2 Timothy 4:7

Paul would ask today's believers: Are you running? Or are you sitting on the sidelines, spectating while others carry the Gospel forward?

CONCLUSION

If Paul were here today, he wouldn't write gentle devotionals. He would write urgent, fiery letters—calling the Church to wake up, stand firm, stop compromising, pursue unity, and run the race with everything we have.

The question is: Are we listening?
